Identity, Authentication and the Road Ahead 2025 has ended

The massive fraud that has been documented in government benefit programs - much of it tied to compromised identity - has gotten material attention from both Democrats and Republicans:  the previous Administration spent three years trying to craft an Executive Order focused on identity theft tied to government benefits, and the Trump Administration’s DOGE Commission has also started to highlight this issue.  But is identity fraud just a benefits issue?  And can an effort focused just on reducing identity fraud in government benefits succeed if it  doesn’t look more holistically at the root causes of identity theft and fraud in every sector?
